Prophetic Word For May

(Numbers 1, 2 & 3)

By: Apostle Dr. Steve Lyston
The month of May – which is the second month of the traditional Jewish calendar – is critical to every believer. It is the most prophetic month for the year. It is the month of Iyyar, which means Increase in Revelation. So May is the month of Revelation. It is a time of mobilization, when God is putting the family in order and battle array to march into the Promised Land. It is a time of record and evaluation to see who is ready to be on the Lord’s side.

May is a time of selection. God is selecting His people for their purpose and their assignment, and He is pouring out. We will feel the Shekinah Glory like never before to lead us through Egypt. It is a time of healing and deliverance, renewal and strength.

Many things will begin to be rebuilt and re-established; God will deal with the Government of God/the Church, the Civil Government and the Family. God is shifting us from enslavement to occupation and dominion. It is a time of consecration, increase, the supernatural provision for the vision, fresh manna (Exodus 16)

It is a time of fresh revelation and instruction, redemption, and spiritual transformation and cleansing. (Leviticus 28: 15 – 16)

Anticipate great revelations.

Also, Isaiah 55: 12 – 14, it is a time when secret enemies will be revealed and exposed, particularly those within the Body of Christ. The Judases within the Body of Christ and the Political arena – particularly those advisors and counselors of government. Some are double agents and they will be found out.

This is the time the Absaloms and Ahithophels will meet their demise.

It is critical for leaders to examine those around them with serious pitfalls to watch out for betrayal.

This is the month that the Lord will bring conspiracies down to naught.

This is the month of double for your trouble.

Prodigals shall return and conspiracies, plots and generational curses shall be brought to naught.

God shall turn the counsel of the enemy to foolishness as in II Samuel 15: 31 which says, “Then someone told David, saying, “Ahithophel is among the conspirators with Absalom.” And David said, “O Lord, I pray, turn the counsel of Ahithophel into foolishness!”

It is a month of proper recordkeeping and administration.

The faithful shall experience great spiritual, financial and material blessing as well as an increase in Spiritual gifts; and God shall lead us into a place of plenty.

Begin to dig ditches! (II Kings 3: 16 – 17)

Ezekiel 22: 30 says, “So I sought for a man among them who would make a wall, and stand in the gap before Me on behalf of the land, that I should not destroy it; but I found no one.”

Many lives are lost on a daily basis, and GOD is looking for those He can raise up to stand in the gap for nations, communities, churches and children! When we see Pokémon and other games take over the lives of many as they walk around like ‘zombies’ glued to their phones/tablets, there are walls that need to be rebuilt to save the society – and we are not speaking about building a physical wall to keep out illegal immigrants.

Many, especially Christians, are caught up with their personal matters and problems – recognize that life cannot be centered around us or our church or our little circle! Christianity is about the daily sacrifices we make – meaning we must yield ourselves totally to God’s will and desire – not our will/ways! I realize that selfishness is one of the most wicked sins now destroying nations. If each person on the globe – particularly Christians, would begin cutting down on some of their social time and instead reach out beyond their circle to someone else, then we would see a global change!

We can’t even blame the government, we have to first look at ourselves and our shortcomings. Family is the first line of government, and if every family was to play its role in the society, then things would not be as broken down as they are today!
Prophetically speaking, God is about to allow many to experience what it is like when the shoe is on the other foot! Oftentimes, only when people go through the kind of adversity those they criticize go through will they truly understand and appreciate certain things! Job said “I have heard of You by the hearing of the ear, but now my eye sees You.” (Job 42: 5) Many people have heard of God, but do they know Him? Is your life impacting anyone positively to the point of bringing change, or are you caught up with yourself and your circle?

The Government Of God

This slideshow requires JavaScript.

There are many genuinely righteous people today walking away from the secular industries because they believe that it causes them to compromise their beliefs, and they take with them invaluable contributions to their organisations, groups and the nation. But that is not always the right choice. There is need for light, particularly in the secular world, in order to allow change to come. The absence of light is darkness. There is no such thing as a separation of church and state. There ought not to be a separation of secular and religious. God did not make secular and religious people; he made man, in His own image. It was man who chose separation!
The global failure at this point is the lack of light within strategic positions. Those that are light will operate under the government of God.
In order for us to see and experience change, God’s government must be seen in all areas – media, politics and finance. It was God’s government, in time of recession and famine, which rescued Pharaoh’s government.
Pharaoh was a secular king, but, Joseph was operating under God’s government. In politics, if the administration is operating under God’s government, there will be a rebuilding of the wall within the nation. Politicians would walk in integrity and principle and would deal with excessive spending, oppression and engage in self-sacrifice for others to follow, as they lead by example. They would also champion the cause of the poor. They would help those who fell on hard times because of their economic circumstances; as well as those who are victims of human trafficking, prostitution and the sex trade.
The government of God creates an environment for investment and gives the poor an equal opportunity to function in a competitive market, remove exclusivity and criteria that only the rich can meet, and provides a fair tax policy.
Foreign Policy/Tourism
The government of God does nothing – that includes making major decision, developing foreign policies or implementing tourism-based plans – without seeking God’s guidance and using His Word as a guideline.
Recently, most of the Caribbean countries, including Jamaica, made a decision in violation of God’s Word. It is going to negatively affect all involved at some point in the future. Jamaica, in order to boost tourism, is recommending the removal of all visa restrictions to allow other countries to come into the nation.

Given the fact that Jamaica does not have the necessary resources to protect its borders, and in addition to the moral, security and labour issues, they should have addressed the logistics issues overseas, by setting up more embassies. Opening our borders for the sake of increasing tourism, will create major problems on the nation; problems which we are not equipped to handle. Furthermore, there will be a loss of revenue. The only beneficiaries of such a situation are the various all-inclusive hotels. The poor don’t benefit in any way. The country needs to fix the crime problem or screen and collect visa fees at the port of entry.
The government of God is built on the principles of God. We cannot depend on loans and other governments to help us come out of our circumstances; neither can we trust man (Jeremiah 17:5-8). We have to trust God to help us turn things around. We have always heard the Jamaican adage – ‘short-cut draw blood’; embargoes too! Some of the decisions made concerning the nation will bring serious embargoes in the future.
Learn From Nehemiah
In order for lawmakers and politicians to create a new environment, we must rebuild the walls that are broken down. We have to encourage all sectors to unite; rebuilding family values and put laws in place that encourage the building of families.
There needs to be reform to national security and to the justice system.
There needs to be a strengthening of the curriculum to inculcate discipline within our children’s studies while they learn the traditional subjects. They need to be taught the implications and repercussions of negative actions – including tattooing, gambling, sex before marriage and the facts about HIV and other sexually transmitted infections. They need to be made to understand that going after gifts from men and women who are not their close family members has the potential to make them victims of human trafficking and the global sex trade.

We need God’s government for things to change.

Godly Criteria For Choosing A Government

This slideshow requires JavaScript.

Many persons from time to time will ask the question, ‘What Is God’s will for the nation?’ or ‘What is God’s choice for a government that he would want to lead the nation?’
The question should really be, ‘Do the people want God’s choice of leadership for the nation?’
God’s choice of leadership for this and any nation, has been and will always be, leaders/ governments that will seek him for guidance, wisdom, knowledge and understanding, to lead while facing the challenges each era brings!
Let it be known that God is neither Jamaica Labour Party nor People’s National Party. He is neither Democrat nor Republican.
The nation Israel demanded a leader – an earthly king to lead them! God raised up Saul’s government because the people did not want God’s will, they wanted their own choice – they wanted a man to lead them so that they could be like other nations. This eventually brought great sorrow.
The type of government that would bring peace, prosperity and economic growth to a nation is not a blueprint of other nations, but a blueprint given by God in the proper timing, and the people must ensure that by their choice they do not ‘jump out of the frying pan and into the fire!’
What Is The Right Choice
The right choice for leader of a nation must be one who is willing to do the following:
Protect our environment.
Put changes in effect so that the nation can stand on its own. Jamaica must get to the point where we can stand if other nations decide to pull their resources! When you are in debt, the creditors call the shots! They legislate as they choose and determine what we get or not, and to what we have access or not!

Give priority to local businesses so that they can expand within the nation, and for the nation. We must recognise that if a nation does not own its land, natural resources and businesses then it has no bargaining power, and the Government is merely a ‘rubber stamp’; meanwhile, the people of the nation are left at the mercy of the creditors. Further to this, the poor, fatherless and widow are left without a representative. Other First-World nations have made the grievous mistake of not owning any businesses and assets. As a result, these nations are now suffering as they try to keep it all under wraps!
One who will respect family values as the number one priority and uphold strong morals, truth and righteousness. The society must be shaped according to this – even if profits are lost. God is the source of the resources, and once a nation stands for and in accordance with His principles, He will replenish and restore!
One who will reform tax policies and reduce duties so that businesses can bring in machinery of all kinds, so that all sectors, and in particular the manufacturing sector, can thrive and create jobs for the people of the nation. Jamaica has more than we realise in order to stand on good footing and succeed!
Any government that does not promote anti-Biblical principles, activities or ways of life, but instead, genuinely and actively upholds human rights, defends the poor, reduces poverty, promotes above-average education for its people, as well as better, more affordable health care is on its way to becoming the right choice.
Further Keys ToKnowing God’s Will
  • Read His Word.
  • Actively obey/follow his principles according to His Word (Deuteronomy 28:1-14).
  • Listen to His voice and follow His instructions (Deuteronomy 28:1-14).
  • Pray and fast (Matthew 6:33).
God does not force His will on us. He, however, allows us to make the wrong choices – because of our stubborn will to have things our own way. As He does this, He will not allow us to be consumed by the consequences of our choices. Instead, we derive benefits from our experience – the wisdom to make better choices going forward. When we cry out for Him, He will give us the right leader/government in His timing.

When will mankind understand that regardless of their plans, God has the final say!  He rules in the earth!
The more we try to remove God’s presence and principles from the governing of a nation, the more chaos, crime and confusion will increase.  Every leader and government are accountable to God.  God ordained the institution of government for the regulation of human affairs; and one of the rights of any government is to protect the rights of its citizens.  Government is a respected institution extended to all.  No government is independent of God’s rule!
Governments must seek God for wisdom on:
What is God’s number one priority for a nation or for his people in a season?
What laws should they institute or remove in a season?
How to please Him (God)
Any government that tries to please the people and the investors at the expense of displeasing God, will have a short tenure!   There are leaders – locally and globally – who are listening to everyone else except God and what He has to say!  We cannot build a nation without seeking God and applying His principles.

Benjamin Franklin – Past President of the USA – quoted from Psalms 127, Daniel 4 and Genesis 11 as he spoke to Congress, “Sir, a long time, and the longer I live, the more convincing proofs I see of this truth—that God governs in the affairs of men. And if a sparrow cannot fall to the ground without his notice, is it probable that an empire can rise without his aid? We have been assured, Sir, in the sacred writings, that “except the Lord build the house they labor in vain that build it.” I firmly believe this; and I also believe that without his concurring aid we shall succeed in this political building no better than the builders of Babel. . . I therefore beg leave to move—that henceforth prayers imploring the assistance of Heaven, and its blessings on our deliberations, be held in this Assembly every morning before we proceed to business”
How many leaders, government offices, security forces or private businesses and institutions know this, and how many take time out to even take time out of have a retreat or daily Devotions in their organizations to seek God on how to run the affairs of the organization or nation?
It is better to be ridiculed and laughed at by men as you seek God’s direction, and then succeed as a result; than to be accepted by men and fail God!
Local and International Focus
Everyone has their eyes and ears tuned to the USA’s upcoming election and the rivalry between Donald Trump and Hilary Clinton.   One says their topic is ‘Make America Great Again!’ The other says we are ‘Stronger Together’. However, without God, His principles, presence and blessings, can that really happen?  Although God allowed America to be great, greatness can only continue and be maintained with God’s grace, favor and blessing!  This is why God wants America to turn back to Him!
Ezekiel 22: 30 reminds us that God is looking for people to stand in the gap that the repairs and restoration can take place.  When there is a breach, anything can and will take place.  America needs to focus on rebuilding the Spiritual walls that have been torn down, not on the physical walls!  Likewise, the same problem exists in Jamaica.  Jamaica is trying to build on a foundation that is already broken down!  There are no walls or gates, and implementing laws and harsh measures on the poor will not bring change; in fact, that will continue to keep the nation in political instability, and cause the people to be rejected by other nations; furthermore, the nation’s sovereignty will weaken.
When a nation continually disobeys God, then foreigners will rule over the nation.  Deuteronomy 28: 43 – 44 says, “The alien who is among you shall rise higher and higher above you, and you shall come down lower and lower.  He shall lend to you, but you shall not lend to him; he shall be the head, and you shall be the tail.”
Because leaders fail to obey God and seek Him, the priorities of many are skewed.  Meanwhile, they look to man to solve the problems that arise.  We should never take our eyes from Jeremiah 17: 5 – 8.  The priority locally and globally should be

To focus on the poor,
Restore the family,
Rebuild a fair justice system,
Have universal health care,
Have a fair immigration system (to include calling an Amnesty)
Have a fair business and political environment where small businesses can compete and,
Finally, we need to put leaders in strategic positions, who have mercy and compassion.

Four Elements For Economic Development

Economic Development is the number one priority for every nation at this time; but many countries are now struggling with the current system of economic development. For example, the textbook syndrome is no longer feasible at this time. We must now focus on biblical economics and kingdom principles in order to have a balanced economy. It is imperative for every government that wants to be successful to focus on four main areas.

(a) Health – trees, leaves, herbs,

(b) Water – wells, rain, river, catchment areas, coconut water

(c) Energy – wind, sun, solar, and hydro power

(d) Agriculture – food, farming and trade.

Ninety per cent of man’s substance comes from the earth. Everything was created from water! The earth was created from water. That means the economy is created from water itself. Water also represents the Holy Spirit and so we could surmise that since water is vital to economic development, then economic development cannot take place without the Holy Spirit.

If we are going to have an economic revolution, particularly in the Third-World countries, then transformational leaders have to create a vision to develop and market the natural resources that already exist (Revelation 22; Ezekiel 42; Genesis 1). If they don’t move quickly, Firs-World countries are going to take away all the resources we already have.

What nations need to do is to merge agricultural ministry with health, and merge water with energy. Once we have a plan, then train and equip the people, and they would be on the path to success.

For a balanced economy to emerge, we must follow the original plan; everything was created with four main areas or divisions. For example, within a person you have the brain, skull, neck and face which forms the head. The brain houses intellect and information systems. The neck provides boney support for movement, The skull encompasses the brain, and the face contains distinguishing features between different individuals. So in order to be successful, we have to be different from other nations. We cannot follow the economic blueprint of other nations.

Within each person is a set of solutions for economic development! So government needs to create an information database to listen to the various ideas for economic development.

While macroeconomics focuses on the behavior of the market and other areas such as unemployment and inflation rates microeconomics focuses on the behaviour of the consumer. Since the consumers possess the capacity to bring solutions for economic development, then there needs to be more focus on the microeconomics.
Everything Built On Fours

On the fourth day of creation, God made two great lights, “the Sun and the Moon; and God gave light to govern” – the sun by day and the moon by night. Then God separated light from darkness. For success, every government must separate from the dark things in order to experience growth within a nation. Every leader must have four set of characteristics for success. The characteristics of the:

– Lion – dominion and kingship.

– Ox – must be actively concerned about the welfare of ALL involved.

– Man – rule with compassion and mercy.

– Eagle – vision for the future; able to see ahead and know which area to focus on for economic development.

It is critical for leaders to understand the times and seasons for economic development or to:

These areas are going to be critical for any nation choosing to move forward!

There are four seasons

There are four Cardinal Directions

Interestingly, Budgets and taxes are always presented, tabled, implemented in the fourth month.

There are also four basic functions for money and levels of faith.

The government needs to focus on four areas:

– Keep power equal and have proper checks and balances,

– Provide national security

– Have economic equality.

– Pass laws that will benefit the people and provide economic stability

I believe every transformational leader should put systems in place to have a national audit to include the central bank/Treasury, when there is a change of government, to clearly outline what will be handed over to the new government. We need to see a profit and loss Statement that the common man can read and understand. In Nehemiah 5: 14-19, Nehemiah requested such an audit. In fact, he believed that self-sacrifice is necessary for moral leadership and he led by example. Previous governors had lived richly at the taxpayers’ expense, but Nehemiah refused to do so. Many of our politicians today would do well to take a pay cut.

Utilizing authority and power given to an individual, government, organization or group at any level is a serious matter. Locally and globally, authority at every level will be under scrutiny, particularly in the years ahead. Authority is given for the betterment of humanity and should be used accordingly. Many of the negative things happening here and overseas is the result of the abuse of authority.

Not everyone can handle authority they have been given. For some, the moment authority has been released to them, a beastly attitude takes over. However, God always has the remedy for that. Nebuchadnezzar is quite the example. When he became king, he became arrogant and beastly. As such, God punished him by causing him to go into the field to eat grass like a beast.

While some measure of authority can be given by the devil, his reward is false power and false glory, which makes him a pseudo ruler over the World. (John 12: 31; II Corinthians 4: 4) His authority is limited. All authority is given to Jesus who has the final say in the things that happen in heaven and on earth, including Spiritual Forces, Man, Government – everything! He dispossesses human events; he controls hearts and opinions!

There are many leaders in various sectors using their authority to oppress, manipulate, block or hinder others. Some are even using their money to enslave the poor, while they believe they are invincible and cannot be removed! However each one must remember that God is the one who promotes and He will demote! He will lift up and put down any authority deemed arrogant! He will deal with pride and promote those who walk in humility.

While the poor dies of hunger, many who have authority are now networking others of like mind who waste the resources and are distributing among each other – using it to do evil. Some will even kill to maintain that lifestyle.

The role of leadership is to influence and motivate the people to do good – bringing out their true potential – using their authority and power to stand up for the poor, the fatherless and the widow. Today, many of them only scoff at the poor or simply pretend they care, while they watch the homeless die in the streets! Many are even trying to pass unjust laws to extend their thrones! Only God has the power to do that.

The institution of human government was established by God for the regulation of human affairs which includes protecting its citizens while promoting peace and justice for all. (Romans 13: 1 – 7)

Authority is the right given to a manager to achieve the objectives of an organization; the right to give orders and get things done as well as to make decisions and give approval. While a person can be in a position, know that you can have authority but no power.

A person should never take a job if they are not given the authority to exercise power that comes with that job. Too many times, when things go awry, do we then hear “I have no power, there’s nothing I can do about it!” Question is, why stay in that position?

If you are given authority but fail to use the power to bring correction in order to do good – even to discipline a staff member when they abuse their authority – then God will remove your authority!

There are times you have to say or do difficult things as a leader to achieve change. Christians in particular, must understand authority. The moment you become a Christ becomes our ‘boss’ and has all legal rights over us. The Bible is our official rule book to govern our lives – not Karma or Yoga. (II Timothy 3: 16)

When people are seeking authority and power, they need to ponder a few things.

Are they doing it to become rich?
Are they doing it for career longevity?
Are they doing it to promote lobby group agendas?
Are they doing it because their bank balance is running low?
Are they doing it for attention and accolades?
Are they genuinely desirous of seeing people’s lives truly improve?

I Timothy 2: 1 – 2 reminds us, “Therefore I exhort first of all that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks be made for all men, for kings and all who are in authority, that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and reverence.”

We pray for every authority – Church, political, Civil, business, health, media and security – to see that they exercise their authority to the Glory of God!

The success of every secular government or leader depends on how they deal with the government of God. Many believe that their success is dependent on how they relate with other Administrations.

No earthly king wants infertility. Every leader has to lead by example, so in order to be fruitful, they must support the government of God. It is the government of God that stands between the secular government and God to avert judgement on a nation. They are the ones providing atoning covering for the civil state. Many times, the people try to criticize the government of God, and ask what they are doing. But if the government of God ceases to stand in the gap for the secular government and civil society for one day, and you would see more chaos than you would imagine. (Genesis 20: 14 – 18; Joel 1; Joel 2: 17)

The local and global crises we see happening – unemployment, economic problems, crime and other issues – is the absence of the secular government’s/civil society’s support of the government of God. Many have diverted to supporting paganism. Only the government of God has the authority to bless and make atonement for the people. Nehemiah, Ezra, Hezekiah, Pharaoh, Joseph and Daniel – they all collaborated the government of God and the secular/civil society.

In the same way that we must pay secular taxes to the civil government, the Tithes and Offerings of a nation are God’s taxes to His government to carry out its function – to facilitate basic healthcare, education, care for the poor and carry out their prophetic mandate to the nation.

There are 3 types of government that must come together for growth, prosperity and blessing of a nation. The family – which is the first line of government, the secular/civil government and the government of God which is the Church. (Ephesians 4: 11)

Matthew 13: 11, “He answered and said to them, “Because it has been given to you to know the mysteries of the kingdom of heaven, but to them it has not been given.” This Scripture clearly shows that there are many mysteries globally, to be unfolded. Only the government of God qualifies to explain to and guide the secular government concerning apocalyptic events, the activities in the cosmos, economics, migration and even solutions to deal with sustainable development. Diseases are breaking out like never before. Certain bilateral agreements with other nations that should not take place are rife globally.

The eye of the secular government is the government of God. The Secular Government cannot continue to operate blindly. There are many, even those who deem themselves part of the Government of God, who promote a secular society excluding the Government of God! Their concept of society instead ought to be ignored!

Regardless of how brilliant those within the secular government are and what plans the will come up with, unless it is blessed by the government of God, then billions will either continue to go to waste, or be distributed among those in secular government. Those who truly represent the government of God are not getting the physical and spiritual support to deal with the needs within the communities. Understand that if the government of God is not allowed to prosper then the Secular government will not prosper at all, and will continue to go around in circles.

The government of God is not about knocking shoulders with VIP’s and being invited to a few dinners and functions like a token. They are in charge of the Spiritual aspect of the nation. They are the gatekeepers. They are the first line to the community, the widowed, the poor and the needy. They are God’s representatives in the earth! They are the ones who should show the secular government why we are facing what we are facing and which spiritual laws have been broken as well as what we need to do to bring change and reformation.

Those who are a part of the government of God are not exceptions from society. They have voting rights, pay taxes, they have the power to decree and declare. They have the right to representation if they feel they have been called to serve in secular government.

They also have the right to pray concerning the governance within a nation as well as peace and prosperity, and for unity among the 3 governments within a nation.
